92 Camery Engine Issues.

My mom has a 92 Camery LE with about 250k miles on it. One day she was going down the road and the engine died on it. She said it sounded like a preassure release when it died. We've been told it could be a timing belt. Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be or any suggestions on how to fix it.

Re: 92 Camery Engine Issues.

To varify if it is a broken timing belt, take the distributor cap off and have someone crank over the engine. Watch the rotor. If the rotor is turning, the timing belt is intact. If it's not, then the timing belt is broken.
