Has anyone noticed the "notchiness" in their stock shifter on the 5-spd? It doesn't bother me that much, but when I want to get on it and go, it takes some real motivation and faith to slam into gear feeling that double-click that it does...

What is the best solution for this? Should I buy an aftermarket shifter (B&M, etc.), or just modify the gates with the ol' bolt trick and some stiffer bushings & tighter springs? What would you guys recommend as a decent, more "precise" fix for this slight annoyment?

Booger bushings should help you out and you even get to pick the color of your boogers!

Whats up... I was looking under the hood to see what else i can fix lol and i noticed that my shifter cable was missing a bushing and thats y my shifter was all loose and not tight. This is whats probaly wrong with yours. The end of the cable has a plastic ring about an inch in diamter. and there was no bushing so i made one myself it works good and the shifter is nice and tight again so i will use this until i can order the booger bushings... Check it out and see if your bushing is still there.. if it isnt thats ur problem.

Hmm wow ok... hope it's there but I'll look again... I haven't noticed a big difference since I bought the car (new) so hopefully all is well. Either way, I'll end up paying for the boogers (instead of waiting for them to form naturally hahaha ok I'll shut up now...)
