Poll: What color is yours?
Do you like it?
How often do you find yourself waxing it? Washing it?
What's your favorite wax (best results)?
Truck in below signature is Burgundy - which I have a love/hate relationship with
Love it when it's clean and shiney.
Hate it when a sprinkler I'm parked beside goes off - water spots look horrid on this color.
After 8yrs though, I believe the color is just as sparkly - with lots of sweat and tears.
I wax it every 3-4 months, wash it every 2 weeks.
I've been using Mother's Wax this last year, much improved in the richness of the color, but doesn't seem to last as long.

Silver. Love the looks of the truck. I don't get to wash it as often as I'd like, but It probably sees 10 good'ol hand washings a year, several auto car washes in between. 2-3 waxings a year. I like Nu-Finish liquid wax. The body/paint has held up well to 3 Buffalo winters so far. I wash & hose out the engine compartment with each washing so it looks brand spanking new under the hood.
G/luck

Re: Poll: What color is yours?
Mine is a dark green. Last color I would choose given a choice. Still looks real sharp wjen clean, and kind of rugged when dirty. My first choice would be silver. Regardless, I love it. I wash it regularly and wax it 3-4 times a year. I use mothers wax. It looks great. My nieghbor asked me if I got it repainted a few weeks ago, so the wax must be good. Right now it is filthy because of some recent rain and mud. Cleaning comming soon.

Hmmm, looks VERY familiar
What do you use to keep the door handles, wheel-well flairs, back pilars shiney black?
I've been using Formula 2001 after every wash, but with each summer's heat, it's getting harder to get that black to stay. One back pilar is starting to turn . . . don't want to say . . . GRAY

I haven't ever done anything to the door handles but I take a rag and spray some silicon tire shine stuff on it and wipe down the wheel-wll flares down (not every wash, just once in a while). I'm not a big proponet of ArmorAll, Formula 2001 etc.

Re: Poll: What color is yours?
Mine is the worst color.. BLACK!. Shows every little ding and scratch. But I bought it used for a decent price so beggers cant be choosers. Been washed once a week since I got it (3 weeks ago), probably wont get washed as much once the "newness" wears off but looks terrible when its dirty. I wanted blue, green, or burgandy but oh well, at least its not white.
I think it had its first waxing ever the week I bought it. I used nu finish which is pretty good. My favorite is no longer made, Westleys Car Polish, that stuff was amazing. I wont use mothers, has carnuba wax. Looks nice if you wax alot but not durable, also not good for areas with high UV like denver. Need something with good UV protection here.

My favorite Rodeo color is red, but my Rodeo's silver stays clean longer than the darker colors and when I wash it, which doesn't happen often, it really sparkles.
It's washed every few months, never waxed, but always garaged.

Re: Poll: What color is yours?
That's EXACTLY what the 95.5 Rodeo that I had for 2 days looked like; except the wheels were different.

No Uv protection (very important in high altitude), doesnt last very long and starts breaking down fairly quick, usually doesnt have any cleaners or other stuff to "polish" with (has to be done in seperate processes), most carnubas use petroleum distillates or coconut oil where as synthetic polishes use polymers (stand up better to sun and rain), also think of what happens when you leave a candle in the sun (I know, differnt type of wax but both are still waxes). I have also heard that in areas with high UV that carnuba will actually cause the paint to oxydize faster, dont know if that is true though.
This is just the reasons why I wouldnt use it. Some ppl swear by it. I prefer a synthetic polish (that cleans and has very mild abrasives) especially since I dont have anywhere to hand wash and car washes suck at cleaning (especially touch free, worthless). With synthetic polishes you can do it 2 or 3 times a year instead of every month or 2. If I had a show car that spent most of its time inside I would use carnuba because it does look nice.

Re: Poll: What color is yours?
I'm confused then, because the Mother's Wax that I have says it's a synthetic wax with polymers.
Maybe it's no longer made? I bought this bottle bout a year ago.

Are you sure its Mothers? Their big selling point has always been they only use natural #1 brazillian carnauba wax. It's possible they might have started using polymers along with it, I havent bought any in years. I tried looking up facts on the net about carnauba but get conflicting results depending on the writers bias or what kind of product they are making/selling.

Re: Poll: What color is yours?
I'll take your word for it.
What's the name of the wax you use?
