Uneven disc pad wear

I have a 94 Camry 2.2L w/ ~180k miles. I changed the front brake pads today because the drivers side was at the wear sensor. The old pads were NAPA's high-end organic pads and had ~20k miles since they were changed. The passenger side had roughly twice the pad thickness left on it compared to the drivers side. I'm wondering if I have problem causing the uneven wear or it's just normal?

I didn't notice any fluid leaks by the caliper etc when changing the pads. Also while driving I haven't noticed the brakes dragging or pulling to one side before or after the swap.

Is there something else I should check that would cause this uneven wear?

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Uneven disc pad wear

Check for stuck caliper slide pins, particularly on the driver's side. The pad on the caliper side of the piston will wear rapidly if the caliper isn't sliding properly. You will need to remove and lube the pins or if they are rusted too badly, the pin or pins will have to be repalced, along with the little rubber boots. If you are not sure of what I'm talking about, read the brake section of the manual at the top of this forum.
