AC Lift is in!gothamist 07-29-2001, 07:19 PM Kick-ass. To Mosi, let me say THANK YOU, the install instructions were a great help--the AC instructions are good but the pictures on the PNWX site made all the difference. Here's the writeup of the install (or click the picture if I get the UBB code right...) http://www.4x4lo.com/lift.htm http://www.4x4lo.com/mods/ac_lift/uphill2.jpg (http://www.4x4lo.com/lift.htm) wqbang 07-29-2001, 08:32 PM Nice. :D rhombus 07-29-2001, 10:16 PM Sweeet! Snoopy 07-30-2001, 01:00 AM You must be smiles every time you take a look at your truck! I bet you wake up at night just to go check it out. Looks great. Clifford is now "The BIG Red Dog". gothamist 07-30-2001, 01:20 AM Originally posted by Snoopy Clifford is now "The BIG Red Dog". Indeed. Now I don't have to feel quite so silly when I say that. ;) The part that excites me the most is that I think I can finally start referring to all the lowered Hondas around here as "mobile RTI ramps". :D Snoopy 07-30-2001, 01:25 AM Originally posted by gothamist ...I can finally start referring to all the lowered Hondas around here as "mobile RTI ramps". :D Could you make it an Aztek? :D Mosi 07-30-2001, 02:04 AM Right on Goth! Looks great! Keep an eye on you front end in the next couple of weeks. The torsion bars settled about 3/4" on mine so I will be adjusting them back up a tad. OffroadX 07-30-2001, 07:17 AM Looks good. I thought that pic was @ Peters Mill, and the writeup confirms. Heck of a lot more water there this weekend than last! It was all but dry when I was there. Schweet, Brent xterra2k 07-30-2001, 08:14 AM Great looking X. Good to see the bumpers are in the right area again. :flash: gothamist 07-30-2001, 12:42 PM I just snapped this shot on the way to work, it's too cool not to share. :) http://www.beatdriven.com/xterra/4x4lo_mirror/clifford_vs_stock2.jpg :D Schludwiller 07-30-2001, 12:46 PM Originally posted by gothamist I just snapped this shot on the way to work, it's too cool not to share. :) LOL. I'd love to see the double take the owner makes when he comes out to his X. :D Philosopher 07-30-2001, 12:51 PM Originally posted by gothamist I just snapped this shot on the way to work, it's too cool not to share. :) :D AWESOME shot! rhombus 07-30-2001, 12:55 PM Great pic... I can't wait till I move so that I can start lifing my X. (stupid parking garage!) gothamist 08-01-2001, 01:38 PM Noticed this when I was putting the Bilsteins in last night. Maybe I do need wheels w/ less backspacing after all. (Didn't rub before the lift, but I guess w/ the new steeper angle of the lower a-arms they are closer to the tires when at lock...?) http://www.beatdriven.com/xterra/4x4lo_mirror/tires_rub.jpg I think I'm going to try fixing the problem by putting a few washers on the steering stops and call it done. packman 08-02-2001, 05:15 PM Originally posted by xterra2k Great looking X. Any help would be greatly appreciated. wqbang 08-02-2001, 05:31 PM Originally posted by packman How did you relocate your ARB? Go to www.4x4lo.com and check out his installation. He had FSRBIKER from EOE do some custom fabrication for him. packman 08-03-2001, 11:16 AM SO BASICLY, FROM WHAT I SAW, THE BRACKET WAS MADE AND THE ARB WAS JUST WELDED TO IT CORRECT? gothamist 08-03-2001, 11:22 AM The bracket was made first...Todd and I measured it all up and he came up with the design, we wanted it to help reduce the ARB rotating around the bolt holes, as well as stiffen up the frame in the front...once you've bypassed the crumple zones you might as well go all out! :evillaugh Then we held the ARB in place while making sure it all fit together (after several passes with the plasma cutter to make sure we took off just what we needed to on the ARB.) Finally he tack welded it in place on the truck, we took it off, and he welded it all the way around. p.s. no ALLCAPS please, okay? packman 08-03-2001, 11:35 AM That seems pretty straight forward. Thanks! I think I'll start this weekend. Bad Habbits Die Hard (ALL CAPS) Aquabro 08-08-2001, 12:08 AM Awesome X!! what size tires?:bandit: gothamist 08-08-2001, 01:18 AM And, believe it or not, 5" of lift later, they still rub...(not badly though...no more yanked plastic trim I think.) http://www.4x4lo.com/mods/body_lift/yes_they_rub.jpg (Picture taken last weekend...I run Rancho 9116 rear shocks, shackles, add-a-leafs, and no rear swaybar.)
