Unhappy Reaching the lower Manifolds

I have a 93 z34 with a 3.4L V6. I have vacuum leaks in my lower manifolds. I have replaced the upper intake manifold pleneum but i can not disconnect the fuel injectors fron the fuel line. I unplugged them, i took the top pin out(one right under the Fuel line) and of course the one holding the plug in. Is there a special tool or somethin to take them out or am i just missin somethin? Please help me if i cant fix it i will heave to pay $475 to fix it and im not in that good of a finnancial situation that i can afford that kinda money. thanks ( Please explain in detail the steps i would take to do it please)

Re: Reaching the lower Manifolds

You actually don't have to remove your fuel injectors. Unless you were going to send them for servicing or service them yourself, you can just unbolt the fuel rail from the lower IM, wiggle the rail a little, all six injectors should pop out of the lower IM, and lay the whole assembly to the side.

Though, once you remove the injector retaining clip from around the neck of the injector at the fuel rail, you just have to wiggle them out (if its their first time being out, they may be a little stuck).

Re: Reaching the lower Manifolds

I got the Injectors out of the lower IM. I have one more bolt to go and i will have it off. The top bolt farthest to the left is givin me some trouble so i have to get a nuckle extension to get it out. I believe the power steering pump is in the way. Thanks again sir.

Re: Reaching the lower Manifolds

You're welcome - glad to help.

I usually take my PS pump off when I have remove the lower IM just because the bolts at the base of the IM are a pain to get to with the pump still on. I never thought about using a swivel there, good idea.

Re: Reaching the lower Manifolds

Don't forget to replace the injector o-rings, as raw fuel leaks are BAD!!!!
