2" inch lowering springs from RKsport (Eibach)

A friend of mine has a set of 2" inch lowering springs from RKsport made by (Eibach) he is selling them to me for $100 bucks their only about 4 months old. To anyone that has experience about lowering springs should I do this 2" drop or not? I have a 05 cavalier with factory sports package and suspension package. and he has the camber adjusters for when you do the drop. does anyone see this being a bad investment or move on my part? thanks for the help

may want to get some new struts with them. Your factory sturts won't last long.

i'd personally will say no, but to each his own. I have my reason's and i was slammed 2" before and it only broke shit which i have just finally gotten around to replacing it all. Yea.... do it right the first time. Being that low puts more stress on your CV shafts.

Thanks alot for the advice, but whats is the perfect lowering height and setup for our cars that doesn't brake shit? Whats the best stuff to use as far as lowering springs, adjustable shoicks, coilovers etc. shit like that I only wanted a 1" 1/2 drop at the most but he had 2" for cheap.

From what i've been told from a whole lot of people is to get the Eibach Pro Kit (1.4" f/r) and koni Yellows. The KYB GR2's are OEm replacement....which means not good for lowering. The KYB AGX' struts are good for lowering up to 1.5". That is what i've been told. But Koni yellows are the best from what i hear.

I'm still trying to see if it is really necessary to get new shocks struts right away with the Eibach Pro Kit though. And if I dont need them right away how long they'd last without new shocks/struts are the best.

Thanks for the advice I'm starting to notice that just lowering the car leads to more work later on like shocks and struts. so if I lower you would suggest 1.4" no more than 1.5" f/r Eibach pro kit and koni yellows. but like you said would that alone last on stock shocks and struts for a long time or for good.

Maybe it would last for like 3000 or so miles. But it would be wise to buy new shcoks struts. That is why I haven't boughten any yet is because i'm not sure how long the springs owuld last on stock shocks/struts. I would buy my suspension in parts and not all at once. So if I bought just the springs, I know for sure I couldn't wait like 2 months to put them on after I got my new shocks/struts.

In that 2 months, i'd probably drive 2000 miles or so and not sure how much damage that would cause to have the lowered springs on without any aftermarket struts. See what i'm saying. KustomAce has lowered springs on stock struts. Possibly ask him what he thinks about it since he has experience with this problem you and I are debating about.

Thanks for the advice on the lowering springs. I read your article about how to lower a car my only question is are there any drops you can do without replacing the factory struts, maybe like a suspension tech 1.2" drop??

You guys have to realize, ALOT of after market spring have higher spring rate over that of OEM. Thus making your OEM struts take more abuse than normal causing them to wear out faster. If you can find a progressive lowering spring, such as the prokit but not as low, i am sure they would be fine. But i make no guarentee's since i learned the hard way.
