Angry smoke coming out of the steering column ??

Has anyone ever experinced this?. The smoke comes out just beneath the steering wheel. I see there is a bulletin about strained signal wires on a 93 Lumina. It happens intermittently; sometimes twice a day, and it may not happen again for 2 weeks. It does it during the day and night. So it having the lights on doesn't matter. any help please ?? anyone.

Re: smoke coming out of the steering column ??

This happened to me. I took it in to get looked at and I was told it would cost $200ish to fix. They said my turning single switch burnt out. Eventually one time after it smoked, my left turning signal stopped working properly.
