Power Antenna
I just did this repair myself and found it easy. Leak some penetrating oil down the nut that fastens the antenna to the body being careful not to drip any on the paint. Use a hammer and screw driver to tap loose the nut ( position the screw driver so that it faces away from the paint in case you miss ). Have a second person turn on the stereo so that the antenna tries to move up ( you may need to grasp the antenna tugging it upward ). Note the direction of the teeth on the white plastic track that is used to motor the antenna up and down. KEEP THE STEREO TURNED ON AT THIS POINT SO THAT WHEN YOU ARE READY TO FEED IN THE NEW ANTENNA THE MOTOR WILL RETRACT. Compare the plastic track on your old antenna with that on the new, they should be the same. The instructions on the new antenna stated that if they were not the same then there could be a piece of the track broken off in the drum of the antenna actuator. I ended up removing the assembly and opened the drum only to find there was no piece broken off. The difference in length was about 6" ( the new track was longer ), so if you see this dont waste your time. To install the new antenna feed the white track into the hole trying to face the teeth in the direction they came. Have someone turn off the stereo and feed the new antenna into the hole. Carefully tighten the nut. Actuate the antenna up and down a couple of times. Have fun
