I spilled gasoline in my trunk the other day when filling up a tank. I just opened the windows and trunk, and took out the mats and washed them. The smell took about one day to go away. In another car, a friend threw-up, and I continuely washed the seats for weeks, and it took a month to come out. So it could go either way. I suggest washing seats and carpet and leaving windows open if you don't have to worry about getting robbed. I think the lysol air spray works well too.

Hmm, I always though gasoline smelt alright. Is that wrong? ;)

I'm sure that would be a great method of getting rid of the smell, however it would create a much different type of smell... :evillol:

But seriously, I have spilled gasoline in my car before and all I really had to do was to wash the area spilled and let it air out.

You could pony up a few hundred dollars for an ozone machine. It kills any odor and can even get rid of vomit and cigarette smells. Just clean the source of the odor first (It won't magically make vomit disappear!), then put the machine in the car for an hour or two.
