New to BMW world

I have a '85 325e. I would like some information on the difference between 325 e and 325 i as well as other models.Any information would help.

the e stands for eta this is a low reving (aprox4500rpm red line) with desil like fuel economy and and i is normal 5500rpm or so read line both are gas engines but the i will have more performeance. over the e. and thats pretty much it. the cars designation is E30
