Any idea what could be wrong?

Ok, well - my car I purchased for $500 (Yes, I know you get what you pay for) - It had been wrecked only once, and it's on the 'right' passenger side door. That's it. It had a new trans put it not long ago, prior to buying it (It was a family member who wrecked it)

Anyways, when I purchased it - a guy told me it needed a new transmission cylanoid valve. I paid to have it fixed and to no avail, it still does not work properly.

The car when you drive it down the road, just turns itself off.. for no reason!

Any ideas on things I can look at to maybe find out the problem?

Does everything shut off (headlights, radio, etc) or just the engine? If it's everything, check the battery, battery terminals, and general condition of wiring harnesses. If it's just the engine, possible an ignition switch. Intermitten electrical problems are always fun to diagnose.
