This was a quicky week-long build, taking a break from Drag Car Contest project... Several of you said leave it the way it is, several of you said put clear over the gold... I think I shoulda done clear :banghead: ... the gold was great, all by itself, unfortunately while putting the model together, I got fingerprints on it... not a big deal, cleaner wax should fix it? No.... they're in there for good, for some reason. I scrubbed rather vigorously with Mother's Detailing Cleaner Wax to no avail.... anyway overall still a nice build, and the paint still looks great unless you're right up close... but I think I'll try a clear coat next time :uhoh:

Built box stock exhaust for plug wires. Paint is Tamiya Gold, interior Tamiya gloss black.

PS - oops, and I just realised I haven't painted the marker lights yet

Very nice. I'm not liking the brushed engine bay though. I've used Krylon Flat Black for interiors, and it looks really good.

Muhahaha, I guess my trim skills are better than I thought. That's not metal foil, I SUCK at bare metal foil :lol2: That's just silver paint and a steady hand.

Next in the bin is a '69 Hurst-Olds 455...

Looks teriffic.Clearcoat over any metallic paint would be S.O.P.All automotive manufacturers do,and so do painters in the 1to1 world.
