A little wisdom please

Hey ya'll, I have a friend selling his 82 rabbit pick up. 100k miles. Excellent condition other wise. New timing belt in the last 20k miles. He is selling it for $5k. Seem steep to me. But I don't know what the going rate is these days.

Any one with a little wisdom...would be appreciated!
Any place on-line I can find more info...?!?
Thanks!
E

Ok.Thats WAY TOO HIGH! Look...unless this thing is EXCELLANT..I mean "de La PRISTINE" , its only worth as much as one would rather give for it.That goes for anything. Plus, Those things are nasty to ride in.Feel awkward, they are stiff, and developing Rust hides.Look before you make a big overly expensive mistake.Right now, here, I know of two at $800.00 and 750.00 each. The third one,and the best one is only $1250. Thats 3 of them for less than $1250. A new timing belt...big deal. Those are cheap and easy to install. I'd tell him he's nuts then walk. If you want, I will get the three numbers for you. But, they are here in Ohio.
Unless its got some awesome mods, I wouldnt do it.
