messed up big time

I installed a prostart remote car starter in my 92 cavalier. I didn't hook up the power locks or the trunk cause i wanted to see if i could just get the car to start...it did...got it working good so i thought i would hook up the power locks....didn't work....now when i start my car and try to put it in gear the gear shifter will not move(automatic). so i disconnected the remote starter and it still won't go into any gear.
i would like to get my car into gear and reinstall the remote starter without the power lock option.
any ideas what it could be?
thanks

i dont see how a remote start can cause the shifter to NOT work...you sure its not just a coincidence that maybe a switch from the brake to the shifter is broken and the starter had nothing to do with it...cuz its when you depress the brake that allows the shifter to move...i dont see the starter affecting the brakes.

Yea hes right that makes no sense. Could it be possible that he accidently put the switch for the brake to the transmission ( Its just a cable right not sure dont quote me LOL) on the remote starter.
