Unhappy Cold air intake problems

HI guys,

I am new on this forum and the new owner of a 1996 BMW 328i. I recnetly purchased a cold air intake kit that i installed- filter i mounted below the front valance. it sounds awesome and has drastically improved the responsiveness of my car, However, I have been experiencing some problems. namely that my car like to shut off every once in a while and on rare occasions it seems to buck while cruising. I am assumin this has soemthing to do with the MAF sensor and the computer being unable to compensate for the increased airflow causing a lean condition in the cylinder- but this is just speculation. does anyone have any ideas, has anyone experiencred simiar problems or know who to fix it?? Thanks for lookin at my post, i really appreciate any advice i can get.

When you add after market performance parts you should always have your computer readjusted
to compensate for the action increased airflow , headers ect .take the car to someone you trust and have them hook into the ECU and make the proper adjustments

Re: Cold air intake problems

I had a problem where the car was bucking and it would turn off at red lights some times... my problem was the spark plugs... the plugs that were in there looked good but the dealer told me I can't run platinum plugs... I changed the plugs and the problem went a way... this may work for you.. it isn't going to cost much to try...
