steering fluid??

my dealer says my cars steering fluid needs changed. they want $80 CAN to do this, sounds like a money grab. my cars got 45 000km and i do live on a dusty road. what do u think? necessary? easy to do myself??

Go to Wal-mart or the dollar store and get a turkey baster. Suck the fluid out of the reservoir and refill with power steering fluid. I do this once a year and haven't had a power steering related problem yet. You won't get it all out this way but if done once a year you won't have any problems.
