I changed purge valve, catalytic c, new vac-lines, plugs, plugwires, ..took the purge valve selenoid off and touched a pos-lead to test it with a batt, and it was opening & closing.. when trying to blow through the ends, so i figured it was ok? does this sound ok to you?? I really dont know what else it could be,.. unless the vac canister is bad?? help.

*I am sick of spending money down the drain on it!*
{Is there anyway to just turn the light out).. the truck runs fine/, even though the engine light is on.

:screwy: My 96' 2.3L got Eng.Light on too.... Changed Plug, plugwire, Idle valve, EGR valve then Light go off for 2 day then back on, get it check they said the catalytic c reading too low, I will try this weekend to replace the Oxy-sensor, PCV valve, Throttle position sansor and Intake air temp. sensor....... How much are you spend to replace the catalytic C? Is it hard to work with? where do you get the Catalytic from?

Thanks

sound like you wasted alot of money when you could have just payed $90 for a ford dealer to tell you what is wrong. guess that is what you get when you do not know what you are doing.
you need a canister purge flow sensor. you should be able to get a purge flow sensor and the purge solinoid as an assy. this should fix your problem.

if you are chasing the p1443, yes, but get the purge flow sensor and solenoid that ford sells as an assy.

Well.. thanks, ... but it wasnt a complete waste,, the engine did need new plugs & wires. But, thanks for the advice, I will go to ford dealer.
