Talking Hyundai has finally done it!

They are finally working on a homogenization of their WRC car. The car is concept is called the Accent SR and the inclusion of a 5 speed auto only indicates it comes equipped with their new electronic AWD system.

Heres the rest of the lowdown. Quote from Autoweek, as well as some of the images.

Quote:
Hyundai's SR concept rides on MacPherson strut front suspension with new torsion beam, lowered and widened. The 18-inch alloy wheels have been fitted with wide 225/40R profile tires. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter mated to a five-speed automatic gearbox. Other features include ESP, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a surround system of airbags. The interior is trimmed in aluminum and leather. Aluminum pedals and inserts further add to the sporty look. The wraparound fascia includes an integrated 8-inch graphic display screen, 3 USB 2 multimedia ports and touch screen-type controls to activate electric windows, mirrors and seats.

Re: Hyundai has finally done

Here is a panormamic shot of it as well.

Btw, this car should go into production quite soon since this seems to be closely based on the Spectra5 and the new Santa Fe is already slated for late fall this year.

If I am not mistaken the article states that its a concept car and not slated for production. It is being shown at the Auto shows to gather customer impressions. But I hope that they do put it into production cause that is one nice looking model. But according to this article some of the ideas on the concept will be brought over to the actual production car next year.

Hyundai Accent SR article. (Plus more pics of the concept car.
