15.1 sec 1/4 out of the box no mods!!!

Went to the track and one of the LS1 guys took a one run on my toy with no mods when the temp was still mid 90's and pulled a 15.1 :22yikes:. I did 15.4 two days earlier and need to learn to manually shift until the tune.

Can't wait to get the tune for better MPG and for the reason I bought this truck, PERFORMANCE. Future calls for in order: tune, long tube headers with full 3" stainless dual exhaust out the sides, tranny massage, and then the funny gas. Would love to see 13's in a year from now..... The way that thing spins the tires I'm going to have to find some slicks for traction when I get the numbers down farther.

Definitely impressive for a stock set up, WOW. That is 1.4 sec faster than my '01 WITH a tune that I had...

Let the fun begin!!!!!!

Well I'm impressed! I'm taking mine to the track in Reynold's Friday night. For $15 you can run as many times as you want.

Re: 15.1 sec 1/4 out of the box no mods!!!

We have a great setup in Indy, We get to run on the same track as the NHRA Nationals. They have the full setup for amature night, light tree time printouts, medics ect... All that for $10 to get in and another $4 to race.

Its a great alternative to racing on the street. Where you never know what might step/pull out in front of you.

Thats a good time Jethro.... I need to get off my ass and get the nelson tune and a few other choice mods.

Re: 15.1 sec 1/4 out of the box no mods!!!

Yea it is nice to have a paper showing the truth, not a guess to what your time is. My 6 year old twins watch me like a hawk so my job is to do as I say and take it to the track to be safe and not let the police help me, take my money, let me spend time in jail, etc..

I have a friend who's boy will try to get him to race when ever they come to a stop. LOL
It dosen't matter if there is a car there or not, pinto or ferrari. The kid just likes to go fast.

If we, KIDs and I, build the conv '71 Judge for the kids I need to make sure that safety comes first before they get a car and kill themselves. Make them install the blood, sweat, and tears and maybe they will respect it like my dad did with me.....

That's a very good number stock!!!! You should have no problems getting a high 13 with bolt ons and good traction. The lq9 is a great motor to run N/A, and with the right cam/heads/converter setup can get into the 12s pretty easy without a power adder. Good luck with it!!!!

Re: 15.1 sec 1/4 out of the box no mods!!!

Low 13's sound like a dream..... I want to be able to post a high 14 before the mods come. If my new job comes through I will be able to "Get 'er donnnne!" I want to get a bike to ride when I have the truck torn down. Also being able to pay this one off before I get to the point of wanting another....

Dreams, Oh the Dreams...
