Need to replace Driver side Lower control arm!
Okay, so here's the story:
I took my Blazer to my mechanic (a great guy) and asked him to check out the following problem:
Whenever I go on a turn that causes the driver side of my blazer to lift up to a certain point, then go straight, that side stays lifted up for a few secs before literally popping back into place.
I was told that there is supposed to be a bracket on my lower control arm that isn't there that connects it to the pin that goes through the anti-sway bar. (or something like that) Either way, I now need to either get a new bracket from a salvage yard and have it welded on, or have something fabricated for it, or I need to replace the entire lower control arm.
Now here are my questions:
1) Which option should I choose? (keep in mind that I am looking for future reliability, as I plan to keep my truck for a while)
2) Where is the best place to go to find the parts i need (I already know about gmpartsdirect.com and i can find nothing on ebay)
3) If I replace the lower control arm on the driver's side, then should I replace the one on the passenger side as well? or will the difference in wear not affect the handling?
If anybody has had this problem before, then I would appreciate what you did to address it.
