Lightbulb 300 straight 6 I need better mileage

I have a 95 150 with a straight 6 with fuel injection. how can I get better mileage. it only gets 12 to 14 mpg I like to drive it but it's getting cost restrictive. would opening up the cat help much?

I had the same problem, because i have the same truck. If you want a semi inexpencive way to increase MPG add a cold/cool air intake to you truck, gave me near 6 more miles to the gallon, cost around $250 but it'll save more than that in the long run.

**Mistake** No cold air intake, but this will get you better MPG****

K&N make a filtercharger kit for 300 I6, AIRAID makes another kit, Includes a mounting bracket and additional hosing. Your gonna need a drill, 2 1/4 socket, and time. You gotta drill and mount a bolt through the fender well, and also mount a bracket onto the coolant housing.

EX: http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=57-2503

Also, heres a throttle body spacer that will also help.
