1995 f250 cab chassis rear axle

95 f250 cab chassis
2wd auto

I noticed the other day that there is an electrical connector ontop of the rear axle. Looks like some sort of plug or maybe sensor inside the pumpkin. Anybody know what this is? Thanks in advance.

That is the speedometer sensor on my 92 F150. I thought it was kind of strange to put the speedo sensor in the rear diff, but I wasn't a Ford guy until about a week ago. I bought a mud running truck from a guy I know in the area. Should have two leads coming out of it, which run to the front of the truck.
