Thumbs up 93 civic mods.

OK im getting a 93 civic 2d tommorow, white, it comes wit Tein S Tech lowering springs seated on KYB GR-2 struts. Polished aluminum short ram intake, New Koyo aluminum radiator. I would like to know what cheap mods could i do to the car, any thing else to the suspension? what would be the best rim size on this car, any thing that might look better and make it faster?

All of you people that allready been through customizing a 93 civic and know what will help and what will just be a waste of money, please help

thank you in advance

Re: 93 civic mods.

Aftermarket rear sway bar would help. I've read good things about the A-Spec Racing subframe brace, this will allow you to put a sway bar on a car that didn't come with one stock. There's also Beaks that makes them, but I've read many times about subframe tear out on other cars ('96+ Civics) from that kit. Maybe something like an Energy Suspension full bushing kit, that will stiffen the car up a bit.

If you're looking for performance as well as looks for rims, then don't get anything bigger than 16's and try to get light weight ones. But none will actually make you faster, if they're light enough they might free up a little power; but won't add power. Though the lighter ones are still usually heavier than the stock ones.

Other than that, it all depends on how much power you're looking for and how much you're looking to spend. If you're only looking for just a little more power, then basic bolt-ons (intake, header, exhaust) will work. But if you want quite a bit more power (like 20+hp), then consider a swap and/or turbo kit. But in that case, the header and exhaust probably won't work well with the new engine/turbo setup.

Re: 93 civic mods.

thank you,

I am looking to spend about 3000$ on the car, what would be the best i could spend them on?
i was thinking about doing a b16 swap, but i donno...
maybe i will just repaint the car, add an entire exhaust system, get some rims, probably some other breaks. and i donno what else.......

anything else yall are thinking about?

Re: 93 civic mods.

A B16 is very nice to have so you can consider that with basic bolt-ons and you should be happy. But if you're more into just having a daily driver you can get a B18b and have more torque with longer gearing to save gas.

Re: 93 civic mods.

D16Z6 if it's an EX/Si... Good strong motor for boost. Also it's decent for All Motor applications as well. I've seen them duck deep into the 13 Second passes All Motor.

Here's a picture of Civic HX Wheels... Pretty nice looking wheels in my opinion. I was test fitting them one, after we got the LS Front Brakes installed... I could barely fit a piece of paper in between the caliper and the wheel... Time for some more grinding I suppose

Do you honeslty think that a sohc displacling 1.6L with weak rods is a good building up motor?

its not strong, its not good its a motor made to last and get good mileage just like all the other D motors.

Sure there are like 1 or 2 that everyone talks about that make ok power but thats a tired argument becaues i'm betting someone out there made a camry way faster then it with stock motor some people like to be differnt and unlike the "D seriZ fo liF" fans they know that they will be off worse then somone building a 350 persay.

You want to talk about all motor? hahahahahah all motor D makes me laugh the record for highest HP on a street D is like 185 or somthing it cost more took more time and has a worse powerband then mine with worse gearing. Oh yea once i strap on the dnyo i'll be betting my block i'll make more then that on STOCK cams!!

The only way to make a D go semi fast is boost and then the rods are so weak they can only hold 8 or less psi with out snapping like the toothpicks they are. I've taken out a turbo D or 2 even and then get the well mine cost less comeback I just say too bad i'm not poor and pee in there mouth tends to end that debate fast

Re: 93 civic mods.

Wow ace you dare question a moderator? lol...well there are many people who have a fast civic with a EX motor. Turbo sohc maybe not as good as a turbo dohc but that doesnt make it weak.

Re: 93 civic mods.

Sure, why not Ace? One of my buddies has ran his Mini-Me 1993 DX with ITB's, and a 35shot into the 12's. He did it to see if he could.

Sure, better set-ups can be built, but that's not what we're discussing here. Like I said "DECENT" All Motor engine. I didn't say "OMFG DSERIES ARE THE SHIZZNIT YO!!!!11!one!!" now did I?

It looks like you're always just trying to pick a fight man. It get's really annoying.

I never said you did you put out some B/S I called you on it. Don't put words in my mouth to cover when you are in the wrong. If you would care for me to expand on what I said I made a genralztion on most D series fans.

You then have to cry "omg ace is mean to me and other people". I don't cater to the stupid or B/Sers. All should know this and also know I am a great amount of help and a nice guy if you are a straight shooter or a hair over mongloid I.Q.

Fact is this: I know more then you I called you on it. Nothing more nothing less you want me to start a fight I can do that too.

Get your panties out of a twist if i'm annoying go away its that simple.

mod or not sod off you don't know enough to hang around and act like one of the guys so earn your respect before you start swinging your E cock.

I pmed one of the real honda mods *unlike you who just hangs here pretending to be one* about your actions.

See i'm still being civil want me to get mean or you ready to hit that log off button yet?

What BS? That a D16Z6 can be a decent All Motor application? I am not in the wrong, and I didn't put anything in your mouth.

I didn't cry anything. I said that it seemed like you were picking a fight over nothing. I think I'm a straight shooter, and I definately think I have a high enough I.Q to be typing composed, and valid posts.

I wouldn't doubt that you know more than me. I'm new to this Honda thing. Once again, we're back to my point, that a Z6 can be a decent All Motor application.

Earn my respect? Mind you, it's the Internet buddy. I don't seek satisfaction from people I don't know (Not saying you do). And when did I swing my E Cock? When I said "It gets annoying"?

What actions? I'd love to hear.

Edit: By the way, I don't Moderate this section. Past Z Cars, Skyline, Koenigsegg are under my eyes.
