1986 mr-2 won't start

Hi

I reaaly need help we just put motor in 86 mr-2 it will try to start but just won't we have spark, compression and gas going to it. But no luck on running can anyone help????

it is a toyota 1600 motor same as what was in it...came out of a corolla

Hi Dan,

I am Sue we put in a motor from a corolla in sons 86 mr-2
it will turn over but won't stay running...

the first thing i would do, is check all your grounds. if they are good, and if you did any wiring, retrace it to make sure the right wires are going to the right places.

does it have new plugs/cap/rotor/wires?

we have all new parts and need to get it running... or he wants to sell it....
