Hi, My 92 cutlass with 3.1 is hard to start, has bubbles coming out the radiator, and blew out the gasket from the cooland cross over pioe attached to the top of the water pump. Upon refilling the radiator there was white smoke. Is this engine a horror story to do head gaskets? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

If the white smoke is coming out of the exhaust pipe yes the horror story is true. You will need to replace the head gaskets.

at least it wont be as bad as the 3.1 in my transport. That damn thing is buried under the windshield
