WOO HOO......finally a question about the much mailgned Cevy engined Cherokee!!

You have Chrysler 904 automatic transmission. Yup, a Mopar trans bolted to a Chevy engine........in an AMC product.

Isn't outsourcing grand?

They are as reliable as dirt, an excellent trans. The transmission bellhousing bolt pattern is all GM, so any other model of Chrysler trans will not fit.

BTW the torque converter is made by Steyer-Puch, (an Austrian company) and is unique to this vehicle.
