Talking It's finally getting legal today!

I've had my car for quite some time now and I haven't been able to drive it because I couldn't afford insurance. Well I called my dad's insurance company yesterday and they said it would cost 167 a month to put me on his insurance, so I called them back today to see how much it would cost for me to get my own policy, and it only costs 102 a month. That's freaking awesome.

So I'm going to try to get everything legal today so I can drive it to school tomorrow (the first day), but I've got a problem. The turn signals aren't working so I can't get a new sticker on it. I can drive the backroads to school, but I don't want a ticket. The turn signals went out a while back because the wiring to them was in front of the carpet in the back, and I took the wires and put them behind the carpet, so now they don't work. I figure it's just a loose wire, because I took the lights out to see if the bulbs blew when I unplugged the wires and plugged them back, and the turn signal comes on in the passenger side when you pull the light out, so I think it's a loose wire. Is there any tools I could buy at Autozone or somewhere so that I can check to see if the wires are getting the power they need?

Re: It's finally getting legal today!

My advice DON'T

Do not put it under your name I placed it under my mothers name as a second car and it is a lot cheaper. Like $60 a month for my ex 94 V6

Don't be desperate wait a little longer you'll have time for girls to see you in your camaro and to get a few tickets. Is going to cost you a lot more otherwise. Listen to me kid I went trought those days too your main focus now that you have your car is to save money.

Think about it. Youll thank me later.

Damn $102 is real good. I pay $183 a month for basic. It sucks.

Re: It's finally getting legal today!

My parents are controlling beyond normal limits. MY mom is the kind where if I had it put in her name and did something she didn't like she would sell it or call the police and say I stole it. I'm not going through that, I'll pay the 102 a month and be happy with it. It cost me 110 a month to drive the Jeep that's in her name until I drop my name off her policy today. My dad won't put it in his name because he's so tight he squeaks when he walks and he thinks it would run it up on his insurance.

I don't need the car to get girls, it just helps.

I unplugged the wires on the driver side in the back of the car that lead to the hatch release and the back lights. Someone replaced the back carpet before I bought the car, but just left all of those wires hanging out, so I unplugged them where they were plugged together and put them behind the carpet.

It may sound confusing, but if you look behind the carpet on the back driver side corner, you will see the wires I'm talking about.

No offense taken. I've already got a girl and she loves me so I'm good. Apparently I'm doing better off then I thought though because the other day I went to this she that her school band does because she's the leader of a bunch of them and wanted me to see it and there was this uber-hot girl there that I thought was way out of my league. Today my girlfriend tells me that the girl that was way out of my leage told one of her friends that I was hot, but my girlfriend shut it down fast. She's real fiesty like that, she doesn't let other girls step into her territory.

So you disconnected the harnesses that go to the hatch motor and rear lights, and then the turn signals came on? That's what I'm not understanding.
