evaporator box

I just removed my evaporator in my 92 f150, and inside the box is an electrical part with coiled springs on it. Trying to find out what this is. Anyone know? Thanks

Re: evaporator box

Sounds like you've struck blower resistor. They control the blower speeds. Has about 4 wires to it of fairly large guage?
