95 GP strut bearing plate replacement

Hi,
I am new to your forum, so please bear with me if I do something dumb! Here's my question- I own 1995 GP SE 4 door with 109,000 miles. The local Monro shop says I need new strut bearing plates to get rid of the front end squeaks. How much of a job is this? I am a back yard mechanic and have enough tools to do most jobs. Can someone run thru the steps I have to do? Or is this one of those jobs best left to the pros? Thanks.

not to sure if this will answer your question, but this thread has some good links with walkthroughs to download to a laptop for your viewing pleasure in the backyard. Good luck!
