Two things,

1-Can someone tell me where the front axle seals are located?

2- Does anyone have a labor guide which would tell the hours for a front axle replacement.

1996 Grand Cherokee Limited
All Time 4x4
Inline 6
Stock drivetrain

Thnks for the help.

Welcome to AF Hotdig

1. The front axle seals are installed at the inner end of the axles.

2. Replaceing just the axle is about a 2 hour job though most good techs can do it in half of that....or less....

Replacing the seals would add another hour, maybe more as the Diff carrier has to be removed and reinstalled to access the seal.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Jd for the information.

I just replaced both axles. I had bought the seals thinking they mounted easily, NOT. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that I have no leaks with the old seals.

Thanks again.

Your supplier should take the seals back. If not for full refund, then for a credit for other products that you need now.
