Check engine soon light- part 2cts24 08-16-2005, 03:26 PM I have a '99 Alero with a little over 100K miles. I had been having a problem with the check engine light coming on. At no specific time or under no particular circumstance, it will come on and stay on for a little while (anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days) then it will go out. The car has had a rough idle/misfire for a little while. Took it to Auto Zode for a code read... it said I have a misfire on cyl. 6. I'm changing the plugs and wires soon along with a new fuel filter, blower motor and blower motor resistor (when it rains it pours... don't it). Just wondering if the wires and plugs will help the misfire or will I need to go deeper. Any help would be appreciated. This is my wife's car and I don't want her and my little boy stranded on the side of the road. BNaylor 08-16-2005, 07:12 PM I have a '99 Alero with a little over 100K miles. Next it could be the fuel injector(s). You can run some good quality fuel injector cleaner through first. Good luck! Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
