K&N filter

Any Grand Am owners use a K&N air filter? I have a 2000 SE (wife's car) and thought about buying one.

Re: K&N filter

I got one for my 99 GASE when I first got my car. I saved some gas and got some more horses, until I started having a shitload of problems with the car. But if youre asking if its worth it, it is.

It costs around $40-$45, but I got mys for $20, it was one of those after x-mas sales. You might find one real cheap on ebay, try looking there first.

If you do get one, make sure you follow the cleaning instructions that come with the kit, and make sure its oiled before you install it on the car. Also, use the k&n oil for the filter, its got a red dye in it so you can see where you have sprayed it. I clean mine about every 50k miles, it runs lousy for the first day or so until it picks up some crap and blots some of the oil, then after that its great.
