1995 Escort Wagon LX (1.8) Wont Start

I just had the timing belt, head gasket, spark plug, wires, transmission fuse, and oil done to the car.

I was coming home from a long trip and while going up a hill I lost my power(doing 65 at the time) the car would not go anywhere when I let up on the gas and pressed down on the gas. I Pulled over into the emergency lane and put the car in Neutral.

It will not start.

Anyone have any suggestions? Fuel Pump, Filter/ Pressure, Sensor, Fuse?

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks.

Did you check the fuel cut-off (inertia) switch?

Does it crank as if it will start? if so you can check one of several things. Spark, the first I'd check. The timing belt, you said was replaced, there are no perfect parts, check it anyway. Fuel, if you don't hear the fuel pump come on then that may be the culprit. Air make sure the filter is not clogged.
