Angry Malfunctioning gauge panel

Hi, I'm working on a 1997 Grand Am 3.1L. It has the factory tach cluster. None of the gauges work and most of the idiot lights stay lit like it does when you start the car. There is power to them because they all zero out. If you pull the fuse, it will go dead and the idiot lights go out.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
Jimmy

Re: Malfunctioning gauge panel

The body control module in the car is probably going bad. It controls most of the guages and lights you indicate. It is located under the dash but I am not exactly sure where. You will need to purchase one that meets the specifications of your particular vehicle, like remote controlled locks and etc.

I had the same problem and mine turned out to be a bad instrument cluster. I picked one up at a junkyard for $50 and it's been working great since. Just have the problem of mileage to deal with then if the one in the junkyard is a lot different than your current one.
