I had to use a puller on mine. Are there 2 or 3 small holes in the balancer? If so, you definately need a puller.

Almost forgot, before you try to drive bolts into those holes, run a tap into them to clean up the threads as they rust up rather quickly and its really easy to break a bolt in one of them.

skibum is correct.
although they say press on, that's sitting in a clean room, no road grime yet, and no heat, plus 88K+ miles on them.
the puller is not the claw type, but the one that uses the large central bolt/shaft that will push in, while the three outer, smaller bolts, will thread into the balancer and pull it out from all sides equally.

it still would help to WD or PB Blaster it to heck while running to get the puller, and allow soak time.

you also may need a new harmonic balancer, since you pried the hell out of it. I forgot, if you pried or hammered alot you can damage the crank shaft seal. when i bought my 99' my HB was bent and shook like DT's. Couldnt find a new one, but heard it was around 200$. I bought a replacement from RSM here ; http://www.rsmracing.com/catalog.htm They've got all the fun stuff! Good Luck
