Camaro poll

Anyone who has read any of my posts knows that I have an 89 camaro that seems like it has a curse on it. Once I get one thing fixed litrally the next day in most cases something else goes wrong. It started with an altenator, moved on to exhaust leaks and radiator hoses. Things still heats up pretty quick if I drive it on a hot day. Cant drive for more then 30 minutes before i have to turn it off cuz Im afraid of causing long term damage. I've replaced the engine, had to get wiring fixed, new gaskets on almost everyplace you would think to find one. So after about 2 grand put it on fixing my car Im faced with a decision. Now I need new brakes, replace the gasket on the throttle body and most importantly I need a new tranny. I got nothing past 2nd gear on the auto tranny. Which I know is because the bands are worn. I wanna know what you guys think. Should I throw this car away or should I replace the tranny?
(by the way there was alot of other little stuff I didnt mention)

Re: Camaro poll

If it were me, I would keep it but I fell in love with my car from when it was running good. So when all the problems came along I knew I was keeping it and going to make it better than ever.

I seem to have the same luck when it comes to my Z28. Quite literally, I am now stuck with a problem that I "Fixed" less than a year ago. But regardless of how many people seem to tell me to get rid of it, I just can't seem to let go of my car. I mean, it hasn't been on the road in almost a year, the problem that I started with started me on a restoration project that i'm still not done with and now back to square one again. I would keep it, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah. I want to keep it. But I can get a firebird thats is good condition for 1800 or I could fix my camaro to a good condition for about the same price. Hard to decide.

WOW i don't have an answer for you but i have the same problem. we have an 89 camero rs and it has been nothing short of a nite-mare. every few weeks it breaks down with something new. right now it will not start!! my husband is so burned out with this car.

we will never get the money out of it that we put into it if we sell it. my youngest son wants it but it is cursed, i can't do that to my kid.

when we get our income tax we are going to get a different car, we have had enough......you'll know when you reach that point. take care, angela
