Blower only works on 4, and 5iamsodamnconfused 08-11-2005, 05:00 PM Well, since I've gotten such good advice on this forum, I might as well keep asking questions, and maybe I can manage to fix my whole car by myself. But anyway, I got a 99 GASE 2.4, and the problem that im having is that the blower will only work on 4, or 5. I assume that the switch on the dash is fine because if I put it on number 1, there is no air, but you can hear the A/C kick on. So, could it be the blower its self, or something else? Ridenour 08-11-2005, 05:33 PM This is deffinately the infamous blower-resistor issue. It is a 20-30 $$ part, and will solve your problem. iamsodamnconfused 08-11-2005, 07:00 PM This is deffinately the infamous blower-resistor issue. It is a 20-30 $$ part, and will solve your problem. Do I gotta tear my whole dash out just to get to this part, or is it located somewhere like in a fuse panel? skibum1111 08-11-2005, 07:26 PM The resistor is located in the duct work after the fan, its there to keep it cool. You get at from inside the car on the passenger side, and its going to be on the bottom of the dash, pull the panels out from the passenger side of the compartment. Hope this helps. iamsodamnconfused 08-11-2005, 07:34 PM Oh boy, this sounds like a job for the dealer. skibum1111 08-12-2005, 08:44 PM As long as you are not a giant, its not too bad of a job, nothing like working under the dash of a honda or nissan (done both, never again...). I fit pretty easily, I just leave the door open and the upper half of me goes in and I lean on the seat with the torx drivers on the floor of the car. I think the hardest part is remembering where all the plastic goes when you put it back together and hoping it doesn't squeek or rattle. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
