Question 01 Corolla-Buy or not?

I have found a 2001 Corolla Type S for sale in a used car lot here in Corpus Christi and im not sure if i should buy it. It has about 60k miles, but is well taken car of. They want 7k for it. A few Quetions I have is that if the corolla has good aftermarket support. Are the engines reliable?
Also has anyone seen a corolla with the Turbo Specialties (TSI) turbo kit installed?
I really don't know if i should buy it or not. Feel free to express your opinions

Re: 01 Corolla-Buy or not?

I owned a 2001 Corolla S up until last may. Bought it new in August 2000.

How do you know its well taken care of?

Secondly the 01 Corolla (zze-110) has decent aftermarket support but nothing too great. One side carries performance parts built specifically for the engine that came in that car. Theres some decent suspension stuff as well. Body wise there isn't too much.

The engine (the 1ZZ-FE) isn't a great engine to turbo because its not strong enough to handle more than around 7psi consistantly. There also is no return fuel line so that makes tuning the car more difficult. I suggest staying away from Stafford Fabrications turbo kit, many people who installed it have a love/hate relationship with it. If you are going to turbo the car, be prepared to have some work cut-out for you. Also make sure you change the oil in the car regularly (no more than 5k in between).

Otherwise, its a good car. One of the better looking ones I think. What I liked the most was the suspension as the car handled decently and it was easily modified (for the most part).

Also, Please don't refer to it as a "type-s, s-type, or s-class"

Its not an acura, jaguar, or mercedes.
