Squeal When Turning Wheel To Limitfunky 08-09-2005, 08:28 PM today i just heard my camry squeal for a second when i did a u-turn to the left. it only squealed when i hit the limit on the steering wheel, and a second later it was gone. is this normal? i just purchased the camry so i don't know if this is normal for this car. also i have a 60 day bumper-to-bumper warranty so any suggestions would be helpful (as in if i should have the dealer look at it, and what should i look at) thanks! Brian R. 08-09-2005, 08:44 PM Probably means your power steering belt is a little loose or too smooth. See if it has good tension. In any event, it is a bad idea to turn the wheel to the stops. If you feel the stop, back off slightly. funky 08-10-2005, 07:06 AM yeah, i backed off as soon as i felt it -- just bought the car so i don't have the feel of it yet. i just had my accy belts changed; would that have anything to do with it? Brian R. 08-10-2005, 10:39 AM Might be your PS belt is a little loose. If it doesn't squeal when you make a fast turn of the steering wheel, I wouldn't worry about it. Toysrme 08-10-2005, 02:03 PM Most non Toyota mechanics don't adjust the P/S pump far enough to keep the timing belt tight enough. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
