Body Styles
Alright i just recently got a 99 ga gt and was wondering what differences were there between the gt, se, and regular models. Is there a difference in just the engine or body styles as well. I am wondering this because i'm trying to buy visual accessories for it and wonder if i should look for grand am or grand am gt. Thanks

Re: Body Styles
i believe GT's body is the same, for the most part as the SE. The front bumper has one hole split in the middle, the SE has two or three grill holes split into the left and right. I have a 99' se and I just got a 2001 SE and they are exactly the same body.
Look back a few days in this post, PONTIAC SITES was the post it has great links for mods! Have Fun and Keep it Safe
Here's a link that wasnt post, this is where I'm getting my 01 GA's mods from;

For the most part the SE and GT models are the same, or at least most of the panels are. Engine: the se has 2 engines, the 2.4L auto/ manual available and the 3.4L and the Gt comes with only the 3.4 with ram air.
Body: the GT come with different bumpers, side moldings and tailights, and newer 02+ have an optional ram air hood and different wing. On the SE the bumpers and moldings are different from the GT and they changed the style of the moldings/bumpers in I believe 2003+ model years.

Re: Body Styles
i did read some body kits ONLY work for GA GT 99-04. Most kits specify with which they work. I guess there is a big diff. in panels. GT's have a red/back stripe that goes around the panels/bumpers .
grfnkl, I've not seen Manual SE, not 99+ anyway. thats what I need, a 6spd manual for 01' SE.

Re: Body Styles
The front bumper is different on the se and the GT. They still mount the same of there are a different look to them. The SE comes with the 2.4 or 3.4 litre V6 wout ram air, where the GT only comes with the 3.4 litre V6 w/ram air. There is about a 5 horsepower difference between the GT and The SE v6. Also the SE speedodmeter goes to 12o (or 130) and the GT goes up to 150

If I can remember correctly, The SE model came in a 5 speed manual only on the 2.4 cyl, I believe that was only available from 99- 2002/2003? After that i don't think they came with the 5 speed. They also came in 2 door coupe from 99-2002/2003?
