Question oil sending unit(?) leaking

My sending unit(?) located on the upper right/passenger front of the engine is leaking oil. It is held in place by a single bolt and bracket that looks like a distributor hold-down bracket and has a connector with wires. Has anyone else had this problem and what is the official name of the part? My Trailblazer is a 2002 and has about 37K miles. Thanks in advance for any information on this issue.

Re: oil sending unit(?) leaking

gtzim,
that is a soleoid that is part of the variable valve timing. It should be easy to install a new "O" ring to repair the oil leak.

Thanks Gary,

That makes sense, I'll give it a try!
