transmission lifts up, Shaft hits underbody?

I noticed the other day when I got into the throttle pretty hard, I felt some thumping under the armrest, I quickly stopped, got under the car, and noticed there were brand new marks on the underbody above the front universal joint on the front of the drive shaft. To me it looks as though the transmission had lifted up high enough to allow the universal to hit the floorboard. I drove quietly home and do not know what to do?

thanks..

Re: transmission lifts up, Shaft hits underbody?

well what you do is replace the transmission mount.. its probably tore.. DOnt get a cheap parts store mount, go to a gm dealer for it..

its about $50 bucks and half hour labor if you take your time.. A tranny shop would probably do it for cheap

Btw, welcome to the forums.. There is a lot to be learned here

good luck
