I just filled up my gas tank about a week ago. From then until now, I have been driving all over the place. Usually at least once a day. I should probably have 1/2 tank left, but it says that I have over 3/4. Any ideas?
Put some more gas into the tank and take the car for a ride somewhere where the car gets a good vibrating and bumping. It could be that the sending unit is stuck. Beware! A tank gauge that reads errant to the full side on a low fuel level is indicative of a failing connection to the fuel pump; so have a tow plan ready.
Everywhere I go is bumpy haha. :P
Looks like I'm gonna have to take it to a mechanic to get it fixed. I hope it's not too expensive.

Best consider looking at a used, known good assembly; as a pump replacement usually requires a whole tank/pump assembly. The pump alone can be a major($) chore to replace.
Being a 95 it probably will need more pieces rather than less.Removing the sender has a habit of revealing rusty gas tank tops and rusty tank straps as well.If the car is from the rust belt,count on replacing those too.
I have a '97 Cavalier with the same problem. The car gets 430 - 440 miles per tank. After 235 miles, the gage reads 3/4 full. At 350 miles, it reads 1/2 full. In 80 - 90 miles, the gage drops 1/2 a tank. After the first and only long walk, I have painfully learned to go by the odometer rather than the fuel gage.
