Fan Inside Radiator....?

Ok i was driving my 92 rodeo today for about 5 min, for the first time since i replaced the radiator and thermostat, and when i pull into the drive way and park i get out and look underneath the car and there is coolant pouring out, open the hood and i see the the fan stuck in a little gap on the bottom of the radiator, anyone know why in just 5 min the fan could have jumped up that far and gotten stuck?

Sounds like the fan wasn't bolted on well enough.

oh it was on tight and in place, but it turns out that as the RPMS went up the fins on the fan extended outward, and eventually caught onto the radiator and got lodged.... does anyone know what the original fan looked like on the 92 rodeo?

Must be a flex-fan. You probably put it on backwards.

I don't know then. Post a pic of the carnage and maybe we can figure it out.

Re: Fan Inside Radiator....?

i would but i have already taken out the fan blade and radiator, im not sure what other rodeos look like, and im not sure if the fan is supposed to be so close to the radiator or not, is it possible for anyone to post a pic of of the original fan setup, or tell me about how far the fan is from the radiator? maybe that will help me figure out if the fan is not the right kind and give me an idea of what its supposed to look like

Re: Fan Inside Radiator....?

anyone know where to pick up the radiator cooling fan that connects to the water pump, i tried local parts stores and nothing, they cant even order them, i have been advised to go to a junk yard but none of the ones around here have a 92 rodeo.
