Is the '06 Monte Carlo the best bang for buck?ghostx 08-04-2005, 03:27 AM I was checking out some '06 cars and it looks like it could be the best car out there around 30k. Think it'll take momentum out of the '05 Mustang GT sales? kman10587 08-04-2005, 04:28 AM As much as I like front-wheel-drive, it has no place on a full-size, V8-powered coupe. It may sell somewhat well, but it won't even scratch the Mustang GT. Jimster 08-04-2005, 06:32 AM No, it's one of the worst cars at any price. There's a whole thread somewhere of why I think that. mason_RsX 08-04-2005, 07:13 AM that was in "Cars I love/Cars I hate" that was a good thred...till it got all domestic vs import on us Fwd V8's are stupid...they don't make sense, the monte carlo is uninspired (interior isnt too bad) and Ford is gonna beat the hell out of it in 06' deadbolt_35 08-04-2005, 12:18 PM even if the '06 monte carlo turns out to be a really good car, i don't think it could do much to hurt the mustang sales. any one looking to buy a mustang isn't going to be persuaded by some chevy, no matter how good it is, and vice versa. BlackGT2000 08-04-2005, 01:19 PM Its not even aimed at the same market as the mustang. Anyone who has a clue what they are looking for won't be looking at both cars at the same time. SuperHighOutput 08-04-2005, 02:02 PM They're not even in the same class, so no. However the MC should offer good performance, I'd expect mid 14s in the 1/4. Sticky 08-04-2005, 03:34 PM I'd like the Monte...if it was rear-wheel drive. Chevy should just leave FWD to the cars like the cobalt and malibu. ghostx 08-05-2005, 04:43 PM Its not even aimed at the same market as the mustang. Anyone who has a clue what they are looking for won't be looking at both cars at the same time. What market is the Monte aimed at and what class is it in? BlackGT2000 08-05-2005, 05:23 PM I don't know, not the same as the mustang thats for sure. It has 2 doors and a v8 thats the only similarity. Could be aimed at the Acura TL type market? VAD0R 08-05-2005, 07:16 PM What market is the Monte aimed at and what class is it in? The Monte Carlo is basically does the same things and is in the same market as the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe. It is a more performance oriented equivalent to the new Impala SS, it is easy to tune since it basically uses a 350 block crate engine and can be basically driven all season round. As well as coming at a reasonable price considering what class it is supposedly in. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
