Thumbs up wow

Just picked up a 2004 SRT-4 today. Subject says it all, I've had some quick cars already but this little guy has me very impressed. I'm a bit new to the world of boost, would you guys have any suggestions considering this year and model? Not looking to go insane on power yet, as I'm still having fun punching it in 3rd...just maintenance tips/things to look for.

Re: wow

NEVER LIFT OFF THE GAS WHEN IN A TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will make the car rotate dangerously fast, causing you to spin out! from the first oil change, run only synthetic oils! exhaust is HUGE POWER as long as you replace the o2 housing! intakes dont make much power. YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR TRANNY FLUID WITH AMSOIL ATF ASAP!!!!!!! use only premium gas. if your going to do a blow off valve, use the mopar one! BUY HOTCHKIS SWAYBARS NOW!!!!! car is dangerous without them, and while your at it, pick up the springs they are dirt cheap! you can get the springs for like $150. pm me if your interested in springs and sways, i know where to get them for CHEAP! your going to need/want them, the car is dangerous without them, and it kinda looks like a stink bug!

congrats on your new baby, enjoy her and stay safe!

Why do you put ATF in a manual tranny?

thanks guys. car had a BV when i purchased it, likely mopar however I still haven't had the time to really try and identify it (could it be located near my turbo housing? heard it's usually in front of the intercooler but i'm just not familiar with these cars). already had a k&n put on, stock exhaust, stock shifter, some small visual mods like the bmw side mirrors (blue led on the sides), some very CLEAN srt-4 stickers which i'm fairly sure aren't stock, little kicker sub in the trunk (think my 200w bazooka might sound better, but it's aright) and there are some sweet looking door sills that read dodge in nice shiny aluminum. im just so happy with this car. been letting it sit at idle for a good few minutes after crankin boost. i noticed that it might need just a taste of coolant (special coolant notice under hood?) but it's been staying around 180-190 for most of my rides (and it's hot in PA this year). nothing but premium. i doubt ill be doing much more than keeping it clean and mechanically sound unless i run into enough to go stage 1. you guys have any good runs lately...? i've been getting looks everywhere and everything else i see on the road that's worth any merit won't give me a good run, they can't be scared right....after all it's only a neon ;-)

Re: wow

the BOV will be located immediatly under the turbo! trust me on this one, before buying stage 1 you need swaybars!!!! it will save your life! also, the tranny will run you $20 and it will make the shifting 10x smoother. its a night and day differance

Re: wow

might already have that in as i've noticed the shifting is very smoothe. got it from a dealership, car was serviced nicely before i left. swaybars are deffinitely something i want to look into. i'll probably end up working the suspension good first. stupid question here but would it be possible that the car has gas shocks? im not even sure what these are but i've heard about them and i hear some kind of compression release when i corner, it's really a lot better handling than what i've heard. i guess i just don't know how much the previous owner put into the ride.

Re: wow

if your going to change shocks, ONLY run the adjustable tokiko shocks (factory are non-adjustable tokikos, they are the only company who knows how to make them!) or full coilovers.
