I have a 95 neon and the cooling fans are working in reverse. I change one of the electrical plug in one of the fans, can it be that I swich the two wires in the new plug? My air condition doesn't cool and the car overheats sometimes. Any help outhere? Thanks Sammy

Yeah I think I would try swapping the wires around.Electric motors tend to run either direction depending on how the wires are installed.

Which way is the correct way it should be blowing, in towards the engine, or out towards the front of the car.

they should be blowing towards your radiator to cool the anti freeze when your idling like at a stop light.......

thank you, yes the fans should blow towards the engine. After I changed the wires everything was fine. I drove the car with no problems. Yesterday, however the car gave out, I check the spark plugs and one of them has water the rest are find.

Any imput? I have a chilton repair manual, but it is no help. thanks.

I check the spark plugs and one of them has water the rest are find.I have heard of oil in the plugs, but not water. The only way water should be able to get in, is through the spark plug boot itself or sprak plug tube seals. The sprak poluf tube seals will go out, but that is usually indicated by oil in the plugs. I don't know how water could get in unless you have water in the engine.

It's strange, there is no oil in the radiator or water in the oil. I turned the car on for a few seconds and the engine ran very rough and the check the engine light came on. Is there a good repair manual for 95 neon outhere? As I said before Chillton manual is of little use and the photos are so dark, they don't explain a lot of things. I buy them for all my cars because I have not found anything better.

the engine ran very rough and the check the engine light came on.Did you check to see what the code is? Do the key dance and read the codes. If you do not know how to retrieve the codes, here you go:

To read any OBD codes, perform the following sequence.

1)Cycle the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON within 5 seconds.
2)Count the number of times the 'Check Engine' lamp on the instrument panel flashes on and off. The number of flashes represents the code. There is a slight pause between the flashes representing the first and second digits of the code. Longer pauses separate individual codes. For example, flash-flash-flash [pause] flash-flash represents the code 32. The last code you should get is 55, which is end of codes.

To cycle the ignition key ON means to turn it only as far as it takes to get the dash lights to respond. It does not mean to crank the engine.

Hold I am lost here is the water in the spark plug tube or in the cylinder itself? If it is in the cylinder then have you hit a large puddle recently?

No, I have not been near water, all spark plugs are good except one. I just tried the key code process. I did it a number of times and came up with 3-4-3. I don't know if it makes a difference that the car is not running when running the key code. Anyone knows what 343 is ? Also concerning repair manuals, I meant to say Haynes manual, not Chilton. Thanks for all the help.

If there is water in the engine (cylinder) and on the plug then it had to get there somehow. Pathways:
1) Coolant (you say no)
2) through the air filter (should be in all cylinders)
3) fuel ( same as above)
4) contamination upon removal ( put your tea down)
5) reversed flow from condensate in cat (impossible)
6) vandalism by your neighbor
