I read the owners manual about the ECT PWR switch and wondered in what circumstance would this be usefull in?

When you are driving in hilly country and the engine is searching for the correct gear on uphill grades. The ECT Power setting will switch the shift points and may keep this from happening.

I use it driving in the mountains so that I have more speed when the truck shifts to the next gear and helps to prevent it from bogging down.
