How many miles are on your vehicle? I usually go through alot before i go on a long trip. like change the oil, belts, any hoses if they look worn. Just anything that could leave you stranded. Finding out you have a rotted out hose on a road trip isnt the best time.

Re: taking a trip--what services?

seeing that you have a 99, I would spray out the egr and egr tube, spray out the PCV (with carb cleaner).

Oil Change, check your S-belt for major cracks, and check out hoses to make sure they are not mushy.

Also bring a quart or 2 of oil along with and check your oil every 500 miles or so.
